So I've just fallen in love with a new artist Max Beckmann. The older I get I've come to realize that the artists I've come to love and continued to adore over the yrs are either Jewish or German (which I guess might be telling since my background is originally german jew, so maybe that makes alot of sense!)

Anyways check his stuff out, he's considered part of the New Objectivity movement, though he did his during the 20's and 30's. His work is just so heartbreakingly beautiful and desplays the sense of terror and forbodding that was a product of his time (which seems to have a great relience now).
